Dubai is relentless—just when you thought things could not get any better, the city goes ahead and introduces something new, only in an effort to outdo itself. When in Dubai, activities are never a problem because there is just so much to do. Home to the tallest this and the biggest that, the longest this and the largest that, Dubai is proof that the sky truly is the limit.
Up, Up, and Away
First things first on your list of Dubai activities should be a visit to the emirate’s crowning glory, the Burj Khalifa. At 830 meters tall, the sight of the skyscraper from afar is already overwhelming as it is; even more so once you get closer. The Burj Khalifa is huge—for lack of better word—and is simply breathtaking.
The choice is yours when at the Burj Khalifa; if you are a daredevil and want to go on an adventure of great heights, then head on up to the SKY Level on the 148th floor of the building. The panoramic views of the city from this level are beyond compare, but can get you queasy if heights are not your thing. If you would rather stay on solid ground, then the Burj Khalifa Park and the Dubai Fountain will do you just as well. For a truly magical experience, make it so that you are in the area at around sunset or later to catch the latter attraction’s lights and sound show.
A Look Back at the Sands of Time
There are now so many things to do in Dubai, but it was never really like this to begin with. Prior to the oil boom, Dubai was a humble emirate relying on trade with other countries in Asia and Africa to get by. This captivating story of the city’s humble beginnings is best seen in the dioramas and various other artifacts and national treasures on display at the Dubai Museum.
The World’s Most Impressive Shopping
Most first-time visitors do not realize this, but some of the top Dubai activities are found inside its malls. The Dubai Mall in Downtown Dubai is the world’s largest in terms of total area and is where you will find over a thousand Dubai-based and international brands. Other than the shopping, the Dubai Mall is also home to the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, one of the largest in the world.
The Mall of the Emirates promises that ‘shopping is just the beginning,’ and they cannot be any more precise with this slogan. Sure, there are over 700 stores, but why shop when there are lots of other things to do in Dubai, right? Ski Dubai is one of the most famous attractions inside this sprawling shopping complex. At 3,000 square meters and equipped with an 85-meter-high indoor mountain and slopes measuring 400 meters, Ski Dubai is the world’s largest indoor snow park.
There are so many great things to do in Dubai and the attractions featured here aren’t even the half of it. Discover more of the best Dubai activities by planning your trip with Travease.
